In this second issue we bring you a fresh look of a vintage cub from Honda, 1968 CT90 K0. The Honda CT90 has an interesting origin story. Honda America’s first sales manager, Jack McCormack noticed that a Honda dealership in Idaho was selling more Honda 50cc bikes than all 6 dealerships based in Los Angeles. The dealership had swapped out the street tires for knobbies, put in a larger rear sprocket, and marketed it as a trail bike for farmers. Honda America sent one of these examples back to corporate, and the CT bikes were born.
The one we have in the garage this week is not fully original. it had been customised. The owner painted the front fender white, put a plug and play Roadster kit Gas Tank and swap the seat into a two seater.
it still has the original “trail” exhaust and the knobbies, so you can go where the roads don’t and with more fuel.
The owner is very fond of Honda motorcycle and wants to get the bike to match with his attitude. This
If you are in Jakarta and have an old bike like this and you feel that you need to restore it back to life, you can visit our Garage at Motovillage Kemang, Jl. Pangeran Antasari No.36, South Jakarta 1215

Starting this week, we are going to show you whats Hot and Cool in Elders Garage. So many bikes go in and out and we think it is worth to share with you guys. As for the first issue, we pick the cutest of all, Japanese built Honda Motocompo.
This eye-catching small bike was launched 37 years ago in 1981. the original Motocompo was designed specifically to fit into the boot of Honda’s then-new City, the smallest car in the firm’s range.
Its bars and seat folded away to leave a suitcase-sized rectangle on wheels which sat perfectly in the back of the car, and Honda imagined that it would be a must-have option for huge numbers of the cars, projecting that it would sell as many as 10,000 of them every month.
The handlebars, seat, and foot-pegs fold into the scooter’s rectangular plastic body to present a clean, box-shaped package of 1185 mm L × 240 mm W x 540 mm H.
Convenient handles allow the average human to hoist the just-90-pound frame into the City’s boot about as easily as you’d expect. Perhaps questionable by present-day safety standards, each of Motocompo’s handlebars features threaded shafts driven by simple twist-knobs that allow each to quickly dismount and stow within the body; no tools necessary.
The original was heavily advertised in Japan. It was marketed in conjunction with the City in television ads featuring British Ska / 2 tone band Madness. So what do you think about this bike? it would be sick to have one of this kind in your garage or to have it displayed in your office space.

Elders Garage has just finished new a Chopperland built with SR 400 engine and it is about time to introduce her to the outer world, the nature. We also bring the RE 350 motorized – black Chopperland. after a quick research, we decided to pin Mount Bromo as the perfect terrain to test Choperland’s performance.
We were very excited for the trip but since we only have lazy riders (but seriously adventurous) for the trip, we towed the bike from Jakarta to the nearest city to Mount Bromo, Malang. It is 13.00 right after lunch we begin the ride Accompanied by a few lonely old and young fellow from Broom broom Bro Motorcycle Club. A motorcycle club so mysterious it never had an MC logo.
The ride from Malang to Mount Bromo is 70 km far and normally take 3 hours long ride. Our ride begins at 13.00 and ends at 21.00, we pull over every few kilometers to take a break lol. Long story short, we made it to Bromo in one piece, bikes are fine, the riders ain’t, but they embrace the lower back pain perfectly. the next morning the adventures begin again.
Before we discuss the bikes, let us explain about Mount Bromo. This slice of heaven is a playground you can have for free. you can go there with bikes and have the best time of your life, seriously. Life changing one. Ok, no need to explain more because you better bring your lazy ass over there and prove it yourself.
Okay now, let’s go down to the real story and get more dramatic. David, who handmade the Chopperland frame himself (well, of course with the help of his down to earth crew) is on the line here. his masterpiece is being tested. will the frame do any good performance out in the wild? well, the answer is like this. stay with us.
Rider 1 is Heret, using Black Chopperland. Rigid Frame, with a more inward handle bar and longer fork (making it more manly and harder to handle). Powered by RE 350 Engine, we use the original front shock breaker so it is believed without any doubt that this built is perfectly fit for terrain like Bromo & Himalaya. Rider 2 is Anka, riding the latest chopperland built, rustic finishing, rigid frame, flat handlebar (for easier handling and better vision range) but higher foot peg. Anybody asked about this will easily say “well, both riders will have a hard time riding the choppers out there and will definitely have their balls busted in no time”. But what really happens is the opposite of what people think! based on their honest testimony they are perfectly fine, with both balls made it home in one piece and lower back kept relaxed! Amazing! and those built are also unexpectedly easy to handle in such a wild terrain.
Here is the explanation why such a chopper can be really fun and relatively easy to handle in sketchy terrain like Bromo. First, both built is so lightweight that a small guy with a very lean body can handle it. Talking about Black Chopperland, even on a rigid frame, inward handlebar, and the seat is formed in such way that the riding position is very comfortable, Heret said that it felt just like sitting in a sofa. Lower back pain is probably just a myth!? Semi Offroad tire also helped alot when it comes to sandy ground.
As for rider 2, Anka, he felt a little bit weird feeling in his lower back but it immediately disappear, swept away by the beauty of the nature Bromo has. His handlebar is more flat and with a shorter fork it makes the ride more enjoyable. Foot peg is a little bit higher than the black built, this could be one reason causing that weird feeling around his lower back.
After all the review we can come up with the conclusion that David’s Ass is perfectly safe, he and his team made a very good job on both built. both Chopperland can overcome a sketchy terrain, frame quality is on point, riders are all happy and both built handled everything with no hustle.
We would like to thank BROOMBROOMBRO for being such a fun people out there and for letting us shoot for this blog in almost every time we had together in Bromo.

Wheels and waves used to be a popular meeting agenda for motorcyclists and surfers, but now it has become a symbol of the Movement itself. The Wheels and Waves-Festival in Biarritz, France, is a real paradise for bikers and surfers. Amidst the magnificent architecture and the perfect waves, and the unity of enthusiasm comes to this festival to share in a refreshing new movement that is not tied to restrictive rules. Creative custom bikes earn the deserved respect, surfers and skater cultures are celebrated simultaneously. Everything goes together, and everything is accepted here.
Wheels and Waves this year is the seventh series of this yearly international event. This time it was centered in a French city called Biarritz. A beautiful seaside town which is also a popular tourist site since much visited by the royals of Europe in the 1800s. Now, Biarritz is a haven for surfers and motorists.
Wheels and Waves 7th edition is held for 4 days from 14-17 June 2018. Opened in the multipurpose building La Halle Iraty and immediately forwarded with Punk’s Peak Race on the edge of Spain called Jaizkibel. The second day was resumed with the Deus Swank Rally held in a French village called Saint-Pée-sur-Nivelle, a musical concert adding to the event until midnight. The next day, on the third day, followed by EL ROLLO racing session which is a Flat Track motor race. The fourth day is closed with water-surfing festivals and music performances.
There is a unique view in Wheels & Waves this time. Is a world skate legend named Steve Caballero who is an active Wheels & Waves participant in recent years, wearing a helmet made in Indonesia, the Elders Company. Appeared in a flat track racing session, Steve is very enthusiastic in wading through the oval-shaped track. Steve looks confident to use the Indonesian products, both in ensuring the safety of the head and add a slick appearance on the motor. Steve Caballero looks so ferocious on Indian motorcycles, with MX jersey and red-colored Premium Helmet Raid made by Elders Company.
This phenomenon at once proves that local products made in Indonesia have started to get a place in the international arena, so duly Brand Indonesia can be more confident in competing with products from abroad.

We want you to meet our new friend from America, Michaela A.K.A. Mowgli. Yes, Mowgli like in the jungle book. Mowgli is on an adventure through Indonesia, and during her busy time fixing her bike somewhere in Lombok Island we’ve managed to make a little Q&A session to get to know her better. Get to know her now, as we’ll be following her adventure through the country over the coming months.
Ok Mowgli, explain to us. Who are you?
Hey! Well, what a question. In a nutshell, I’m a chick that loves riding motorcycles and being in the ocean. I’m originally from the United States but I moved to Indonesia when I was pretty young, around 19 years old. I spent 6 years here, traveled all over this beautiful country and was loving life. I was very lucky. I’ve now been in Australia studying over the last few years and that’s where I got my first motorcycle and I became addicted to riding instantly.
How did you get here and decide to ride across Indonesia?
So when I was in Australia I had a little 250 with a surfboard rack on it and I started doing long trips around the country with my bike and surfboard looking for waves. Out of nowhere with just started dreaming about coming back to Indo and doing a long trip by motorbike here. Indonesia has some of the best waves in the world, and I thought it would be a super cool place to see from a motorcycle. Over a couple months, the dreams about this trip just wouldn’t stop, so I thought, I better just make it happen. There’s no better time than now.
What drives you this far?
I don’t know, I think I’m driven by the challenge of it. I like having to figure all this out, like how to get to all the places I want to see, learning about motorcycles (that’s been a slow learning curve for me, I knew nothing before I planning this trip.) I’m also just really inspired by Indonesia, the people here and it’s beautiful culture. I love how you can literally watch it change from the seat of your motorbike as you ride past – culture, religion, clothing, and food. It’s definitely inspiring.
tell us your plan!
So right now the plan has been to start in Bali and head east through Lombok and Sumbawa and then loop back to Bali before heading to Java and Sumatra. I hope to end things with a cheeky trip surfing the Mentawais. But I’m open to what the road has for me and I’m sure it will take me to some unexpected places. I also can’t wait to hang with you guys in Jakarta!
where are you now?
Right now I’m in East Sumbawa! It took me 5 days to get here from Bali and I spent a couple days in Lombok with a hole in my tank. Which was fine because I got to hang out with a local rider Kevin Pentaxian there, and he took really good care of us. It was really cool to check out their bike community there too. Bikes bring people together which makes traveling on one a really awesome experience.
Guys, this is fun, and we envy her. We wish we could be with her riding all day and all night, enjoying tropical winds and waves and saying hi to all the good people on the way. But life is not fair. So Mowgli is having all the fun for us while we are busy in Jakarta working. But at least we can have a bit of happiness by following along with her journey. So stay tuned for more adventures from Mowgli in Indonesia!
